Insert a numbered list from sequence annotations

One way to annotate a screen shot is to place numbered circles on the \L \ image and then use a corresponding numbered list in the paragraph text to \L \ explain each circle. This can be useful any time there is not a lot of \L  space for text annotations on the image itself, but is especially useful \L  when you want to illustrate a sequence of actions to be performed on the \L  screen pictured in the image.

If you have added sequence annotations to a step image you can automatically generate a numbered list in the text field.

Example

The following screenshot shows an example of a step in Clarify that has an image with 2 sequence annotations on it and a corresponding numbered list in the step instructions.

Example

Add Sequence Annotations to Your Image

You must first add sequence annotations to your step image before your can generate a list. Select the sequence tool and add some sequence annotations.

Add Sequence Annotations to Your Image

Select Document > Create List From Sequence

Once you have added some sequence annotations (there are 2 in the step pictured here), select Create List From Sequence from the Document menu.

Select Document > Create List From Sequence

A list will be created for you in the instructions field

A list with 2 items has been created because there are two sequence annotations on the image.

A list will be created for you in the instructions field

it would be nice if we had the option to define the starting number (for a sequence) on any given page so we would then have the option to continue the numbering from the previous page instead of having the numbering automatically start over again.

Often I am documenting the screen captures of a page which is too long to be captured in one piece so the images span multiple pages. I would love to be able to have the numbers under my control so i can determine the starting number on the page if i wish to change it ... then I could continue the numbering sequence across the multiple pages which all refer to the same longer image.

Right now I am forced to stack a bunch of numbers on top of each other until the sequence arrives at the next number i need.

@Becky - a future version of Clarify will have the ability to set the starting sequence number for annotations and numbered lists.

I agree with Becky. This would be high on my wish list. I'm having to type in the numbered list manually on those processes with multiple screen shots and it looks different than the numbered lists in other sections.
